Six Reasons to Work With Legacyloom
Experienced Facilitators
Our team has handled Malaysian family archives across many household types and document eras, including Jawi script, old land titles, and multi-language correspondence.
Structured, Repeatable Process
Every session follows a documented procedure. You receive consistent results regardless of the complexity of your documents or the size of the collection.
Written Deliverables
You leave with something tangible — a typed inventory, a bound heritage record, or a printed reading card — not just a conversation or a list of verbal suggestions.
Honest About Scope
We tell you clearly what we do and what we cannot do. Our programmes are educational and administrative. We do not cross into regulated territory, and we never pretend otherwise.
Work at Your Pace
Sessions are designed around the family, not a production schedule. Older family members are accommodated; there is no pressure to process everything in a single day unless that suits you.
Home Visits Available
The Heritage Documentation programme includes visits to your home within Greater KL. The materials stay in your environment; you do not need to transport anything to our office.
In More Detail
Professional Expertise
The Legacyloom team draws on backgrounds in archival administration, adult education, and community documentation work. This combination matters: archival training shapes how we handle and categorise documents, while education experience shapes how we explain the process to family members who may never have thought about document organisation before.
- Familiarity with Malaysian document types across multiple eras
- Internal facilitator training programme
- Based in KL since 2019
Documented Process
We follow a documented procedure in every session. This is not a casual conversation around a table — materials are sorted into defined categories, labelled in a consistent format, and entered into a typed inventory that names each item and records where it is held. The same approach applies whether you arrive with twenty documents or two hundred.
- Consistent category and labelling system
- Written procedure reviewed and updated annually
- Post-session summary provided to family
Service and Communication
We reply to enquiries within one working day. Before any session begins, we send a written summary of what is included, what is not included, and what the family will receive at the end. During the Heritage Documentation programme, the facilitator provides a brief update after each home visit so families are always informed about progress.
- One working-day response to all enquiries
- Written engagement summary before each programme
- Progress updates during multi-session programmes
Value and Pricing
Our pricing is stated clearly on the sessions page and is inclusive — there are no additional charges for travel within Greater KL, for the printed inventory or bound record, or for a standard number of follow-up questions after the session ends. We want families to know exactly what they are paying before they book.
- All-inclusive pricing, no hidden items
- Printed deliverable included in each programme price
- Sessions available from RM 280

What Sets Us Apart
Our Distinctive Approach
Multi-Script Familiarity
Malaysian family archives frequently contain documents in Rumi, Jawi, Chinese, and Tamil scripts, sometimes within the same household. Our facilitators are familiar with identifying and categorising these materials, even when they cannot read every script fluently.
Printed Bound Records
The Heritage Documentation programme produces a physical, printed, bound record — not a digital file. This is a deliberate choice. Older family members can read it without a device, it can be shared between branches of a family, and it does not depend on any particular software to remain accessible.
Introductory Reading Session
The Heritage Reading Session exists as a standalone offering — for families who are not yet ready for a full programme but want to understand the landscape. At RM 280, it provides a plain-English introduction to family-records management with no pressure to proceed further.
No Pressure to Proceed
Each session stands alone. Attending a reading session does not commit a family to the inventory workshop, and completing the workshop does not commit them to the documentation programme. Families choose what serves them, at their own pace.
